In reality, most pets prefer Dogwood Animal Hospital of South Knoxville because the doctors and staff are kind and compassionate, keeping your pet's health as their first priority. Licensed veterinarians, Harry McLeod and Ruth Sloan McLeod are University of Tennessee graduates from 1984 and 1983 respectively. Your pet's health and well- being is very important to them, and they will take every step to give your pet the best possible care.
Dogwood Animal Hospital has been serving the pets of South Knoxville, South Knox County and Seymour since 1988. We handle a variety of medical, surgical, and dental issues. A former emergency clinic veterinarian, Harry McLeod, or Dr. Mac as he is known, can handle most illnesses or issues your pets might have. Ruth Sloan McLeod, aka Dr. Sloan, a Knoxville native, loves your pets like you do, treating all pets like they were her own. She formerly has worked for Oldtown Veterinary Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC and WNC Veterinary Hospital in Asheville, NC before opening Dogwood Animal Hospital. Beyond first rate pet care, we make our clinic comfortable, kid-friendly, and a calm environment so your dog, cat, or other pet can relax, either in the divided waiting room or in the exam room, while waiting to meet the veterinarian. The practice is intentionally small so that the doctors and staff can give each patient the attention they deserve. Appointments are scheduled 30 minutes apart to provide adequate time to assess all issues. Walk-ins are worked in, if necessary, but are discouraged so that we may give every patient adequate consideration and assessments. Referrals are made to area specialists when the need arises, making your pet's care as comprehensive as possible.
